Renee Zellweger: I Never Broke Character on “Bridget Jones’s Baby”
Gossip Date: 24-03-2016

Despite her American heritage, Renee Zellweger developed a flawless British accent for her character in “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” and even when she wasn’t on-camera she maintained her guise.

The “Jerry Maguire” babe told “Good Morning Britain,” “It is (helpful) to me (to stay in character). I don't want to think about it (the British accent). And I feel like if I go in and out of it... it's really just lazy actually. It's lazy. I don't want to do the work to get back into it every day!"

For the new flick, Renee spent time at the GMB studios to research Bridget’s new job as a television news producer- "I didn't realize you have a live feed coming in all the time from the internet and obviously all round the world, and you change your schedule as the new information comes in. So whatever you might have scripted in the evening gets scrapped in the moment if something important comes in. Very impressive because you just do it on a dime!"
