Bill Clinton is an American Democratic politician. He was born in Hope, Arkansas, on 19 August 1946. In 1968, Bill Clinton graduated from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Science at Georgetown University, in Washington, with a Bachelor degree of Science in Foreign Service. After graduating, Bill Clinton won a scholarship to Oxford University, where he studied Government. After graduating for a second time, Bill Clinton left Oxford and went to Yale Law School to obtain a Juris Doctor degree, where he met Hillary Rodham, whom he later married.

In 1976, Bill Clinton became the Attorney General of Arkansas, and later, in 1978, he was elected as Governor. Whilst in the role of Governor, Bill Clinton transformed the Arkansas economy and significantly improved the Arkansas education system. From 1990-1992, Bill Clinton headed the Democratic Leadership Council, and then in 1992 he ran for President and won. Then, on 20 January 1993, Bill Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd President of the United States.

Bill Clinton rode through a series of controversies during his time as President. In May 1993, the White House travel controversy began, which involved the firing of several longtime employees due to financial improprieties in the White House. Though Bill Clinton was exonerated, Hillary Clinton was alleged to have played a central role in the incidents, as well as having made false statements to the FBI, however she was never prosecuted.

Then, in 1998, details of his affair with twenty-two year old intern Monica Lewinsky emerged. The details of their sexual relations were aired publicly and featured heavily in the media, with Bill Clinton later forced to make a public announcement admitting to the affair. This was not the only affair Bill Clinton was rumoured to have with seven women making claims to have had a sexual relationship with him either before or during his time as Governor and President.
